Find Anything is a classifieds marketplace built for buyers and sellers in Sri Lanka — vehicles, property, electronics and more. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number and password. If you sign in through a third-party identity provider, we receive the basic profile details it shares with us.

Ad listings

When you post a classified ad, we collect the ad's title, description, price, category, condition, photos, and the contact details you choose to show (phone, email, and/or WhatsApp). You also choose which province, district and city to list the ad under.

Location information

You may optionally drop a pin for your ad's exact location. You control who sees it: visible to everyone, hidden, or shared only when a buyer specifically requests it. If you don't set a precise location, only your selected city/district/province is shown.

Messages and activity

If you message a seller through the site, we store that message so both parties can see the conversation. We also keep track of ads you save to your wishlist and basic activity like ad view counts — this data is tied to your account and isn't shared with other users.

Usage and device information

Like most websites, we automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, to help us keep the service secure and working correctly.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Show your ads to other users and let buyers get in touch with you
• Operate features such as messaging, saved ads and "My Ads"
• Verify accounts, prevent fraud and enforce our terms
• Respond to support requests and send account or ad-related notifications
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve it

We do not currently run advertising or analytics scripts on the site, but we may use tools such as Google Analytics in the future to understand traffic and improve the marketplace — this policy will be updated if that changes.

What's Public on a Classified Ad

Classifieds are, by nature, public listings. When you post an ad, its title, description, price, category, photos, general location (city/district/province) and any contact details you choose to enable are visible to anyone browsing the site — including people without an account. Your email address and password are never shown publicly.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in limited cases:

• With other users, to the extent described above (public ad details, and messages you choose to send)
• With service providers who host our infrastructure and store ad photos on our behalf
• When required by law, or to protect the safety of our users and the platform

Your Choices & Controls

• Edit or delete any ad at any time from "My Ads"
• Choose which contact methods (phone, email, WhatsApp) appear on each ad
• Control whether your ad's exact location is public, hidden, or shared on request
• Save and remove ads from your private "Saved Ads" list
• Contact us to request a copy of your data or to close your account

Cookies & Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits. We don't currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data Security

Passwords are stored encrypted, and access to your account is protected by a secure sign-in token. No online service can guarantee complete security, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

Data Retention

We keep your account and ad information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove your personal data except where we're required to keep certain records by law.

Children's Privacy

Find Anything is intended for users aged 18 and over, as buying and selling often involves financial transactions. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Sri Lankan Users

Find Anything is built for the Sri Lankan community, and we aim to handle your information in line with applicable data protection law in Sri Lanka, including the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022. Depending on where our service providers operate, your information may be processed on servers located outside Sri Lanka.

We may update this policy from time to time as the site evolves. We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we make changes.
